Meet Dr. Tiffany Harrop

Welcome — I’m so glad you’re here.

I’m a licensed psychologist based in Kansas City, and I specialize in supporting individuals for whom ambition, achievement, and anxiety are intertwined. I’ve worked with driven, capable folks across healthcare, academic, government, corporate, creative, and legal environments. They’re used to carrying a lot — and doing it well — but the internal cost can be heavy.

I understand how challenging it can be to move between your personal and professional worlds while managing acute stress, emotional overwhelm, harsh self‑criticism, procrastination and avoidance, shame, or exhaustion and burnout. It’s easy to lose touch with what matters most when you’re constantly striving to meet expectations, whether they come from others or from within.

As a woman and a person with a physical disability, I also understand the weight of navigating systemic inequities in spaces that aren’t built to include everyone. That added “tax” can feed cycles of self‑doubt, fatigue, and pressure to over‑perform simply to be seen, heard, and valued.

My goal is to offer an inclusive and affirming space where you can set everything down — even briefly — and reconnect with yourself, your strengths, and your meaning and purpose.

Therapeutic Approach:

I’m trained as both a scientist and clinician, which means I highly value incorporating robust research findings on therapeutic approaches to determine not just what actually works for people, but what are the underlying mechanisms – meaning the components of treatment – that may or may not be effective or important for a given individual or group and why. I bring deep expertise to help you appreciate how your mind (and body) works so you can develop insight, confidence, and the strategies needed to navigate challenges with greater clarity, resilience, and self-trust.

The treatment I offer is grounded in evidence-based care and delivered with compassion and respect for your lived experience, incorporating values such as inclusion, advocacy, authenticity, humor, liberation, and resilience. I draw from empirically-supported therapies (e.g., Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy) while adapting the work to fit your strengths, needs, and values - never a one-sized-fits-all model. Therapy is a collaborative process shaped by your goals and what matters to you most. Together, we will explore the challenges arising for you while developing practical skills to move you toward meaningful change in daily life and supporting sustainable growth.
